French Sapeur Fireman Axe Ax 19Th Century

This is a nice french fireman's axe dates from the mdi to late 19th century. It wears a small but hefty axe head that measures 6 3/4 inches across with a cutting edge of 3 9/16 inches. The axe head shows to have been cleaned in recent years, nevertheless does remain in godo condition with only a little minor staining. The wooden shaft is brass fitted and measures 17 7/8 inches in length adn remains healthy with much of the original black finish still present. Overall measuring 18 13/16 inchse in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction). Effective as of 1-1-07 bids welcomed only from established bidders with (10) or more feed backs.
